80, worked at local shoe factories
Anna Mae "Dolly" Weik, 80, of Lititz, walked through Heaven’s gate Wednesday, April 24, 2013.
Though her passing was sudden, she was cared for at Ephrata Community Hospital.
Born in Lancaster County, she was the life-long loving companion of Troy M. Bender and they shared 60 years together. She was the daughter of the late Fred S. and Mary Hartrenft Knoll.
Anna Mae retired in 1990 from the former Badorf Shoe factory. At one time she also worked at the former Bedford Shoe Factory and the Alsam Shoe Factory.
Anna Mae enjoyed her cabin in Potter County, decorating for the holidays, all types of flowers, and she loved her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Mt. Aetna Social Club, Elstonville Sportsman Association, and the Reamstown Athletic Association.
She is survived by seven children: Lester L., husband of Tara A. Weik, Lititz; Donna L. Lorah, Stevens; William E. Weik, companion of Debra Kurtz, Lititz; Wesley S., companion of Candi Schaeffer-Wentzel, Ephrata; Darryl L., husband of Candance L. Weik, Ephrata; Brenda L., wife of Kevin D. Herr, Lititz; Tammy S., wife of Peter M. Ruhl, Lititz; step daughters: Theresa, wife of Allan Miller; and Patricia Shaeffer, all of Ephrata; one loving sister: Shirley, wife of Albert Steif, Ephrata; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant son: Arnold Ray Weik; three brothers: Fred S. Knoll, Jr., Samuel and Paul Knoll; three sisters: Barbara Haller, Dorothy Ludwig, and Christine Bender; son-in-law: Ricky Lorah; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends attended Anna Mae’s life celebration funeral service at Spacht Funeral Home April 30 with the Rev. Charles Deutsch officiating. Interment was at Memory Gardens in Ephrata.
