Elvin H. Martin, 86, of Lititz, passed away Monday, Feb.17, 2014 at the home of his daughter with whom he resided.
He was married Jan. 17, 1953, to Martha N. Weaver who passed away October 2008.
Elvin was born in Ephrata Township to Ervin B. and Anna H. Martin Feb. 21, 1927.
He was a farmer and a member of Pequea Mennonite Church (Weaverland Conference).
Surviving are six children: Marian (Elvin Hursh), Lititz; Lois (Ben Stoltzfus), Honey Brook; Merle (Erla Martin), Lititz; Elaine (Jay Horst), Scipio Center, N.Y.; Janice (Eugene Burkholder), Richfield and Kevin (Eva Jane Zimmerman), Lititz. Also surviving is a daughter-in-law: Vicky Worden Martin, Philippines; 36 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 46 step-great grandchildren and three step great-great grandchildren; brothers: Ammon H. Martin, Ephrata and Adin H. Martin, Mt. Joy and sisters: Elsie Brubaker (Lester), Plymouth, Ohio; Alta Leid (the late Aaron) Plymouth, Ohio and Nora Hoover (Elam), New Holland.
Preceding him in death was a son: Galen; a granddaughter: a brother, Earl H. (Lucy of NY) Martin and a sister: Miriam Snyder (Paul of New Holland).
His funeral was held Feb. 21 at Fairmount Homes Farm Crest Chapel with further services at Meadow Valley Mennonite Church with Bishop Curvin Zimmerman, Paul Newswanger, Elam Ray Martin and Gary Zimmerman officiating. Interment was in Meadow Valley Mennonite Cemetery.
